Kartwheel was developed as a creative outlet for the Pinheads at Pinwheel, a design studio . Lorena Pinon (co-founder of Pinwheel) took it upon herself to carve out a little time for self-expression in her busy life as a business owner, wife, and a mother of two kiddies.

She designed her own baby diaper bag , and soon family, friends and strangers were encouraging her to design a line of urban bags for both men and women. Her inspiration to create grew, thus Kartwheel was born.
